Hosting 9 events annually, all indoor, in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, we strive to find the perfect balance and variety of mediums to set up the show and its participants for success!
The Craftsmen’s Classic Art & Craft Festivals have been named more often than those of any other promoter to the “100 Best” list by the prestigious Sunshine Artist Magazine! Recipient of 243 Top 100 Awards as of September 2023.
The Craftsmen’s Classics were dreamed up by Clyde Gilmore, Jr. (“C.M.”) when his young son (Clyde Gilmore, III) participated in small craft fairs with his handmade jewelry. Seeing a need for indoor, large-scale events in which artists could have a comfortable and successful venue in which to sell their creations, the first Craftsmen’s Christmas Classic Art & Craft Festival was held in Greensboro, NC in 1974. When C.M. passed away unexpectedly in 1980, Clyde Gilmore, III took over the events, assuming he would simply finish out the season in an effort to give the exhibitors an opportunity to finish out their year with good sales. Having a serious knack for the job, and learning as he went, Gilmore Shows was able to expand and evolve into one of the most highly acclaimed event producers in the nation. The Greensboro Christmas Classic celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2023!
